| 4/15/08 - Accton Technology (TAIEX: 2345) is proud to announce the availability of its Internet radio modules, integrating WiFi, Ethernet, and multimedia capabilities into one module. This enables radio and audio equipment manufacturers to upgrade their devices to support multimedia and Internet radio functions an electronic BOM cost approaching USD $15 (note) per module.
Samuel Chang, Accton's Vice President said, "With 20 years of experience working with ODM customers for networking solutions, Accton has the capability to provide the integrated end-to-end solutions. And, working with well-known home stereo vendors to develop standalone Internet radios since 2007, Accton is confident to offer such devices to the market via OEM/ODM partnerships. The Internet radio module is ideal for home audio equipment manufacturers to add additional features to their receivers while keeping manufacturing costs down. The inherent challenge in integrating digital and networking protocols with traditional audio equipment can be addressed with one module, and allows audio equipment manufacturers to enter the emerging Internet radio market, projected to reach 8 million units in 2009." Accton's Internet radio modules can connect with more than 10,000 Internet radio stations worldwide, offering users an alternative to receiving localized radio stations, while the content can be streamed globally, in various languages and formats. The module is compatible with all popular Internet radio station listings and portals, and can even be customized to individual OEM preferred listings. Moreover, the device can connect with home networked computers via uPnP, allowing users to experience their music through high fidelity home audio entertainment systems. The Internet radio module will be displayed at the Hong Kong Electronic Fair on April 14-17, 2008 along with Accton's partners. Note: The price of electronic BOM US $15 is based on one million volume in a year. Want to learn more about wireless technologies?
